Jr. Explorer’s | Digging Into History & Metal Detecting Adventure

July 21, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

$10.00

Time to put on your explorer’s hat! On this Jr. Explorer Adventure kids, ages 7-11, will become part of the Confluence Discovery Team! They’ll dig with us into the history of the confluence land and waters and find out about the people and animals who lived here and learn what traces they’ve left behind.  They’ll learn about the archeological dig done right here for Ke-Chunk, a Ho-Chunk village. We’ll touch and learn about ancient fossilized animal bones and ancient tools.  Then we’ll head out on an exploration to see what treasures we can find buried beneath the soil and in the stoney bank of the Rock River and Turtle Creek using metal detectors.

Each child will be able to sift through their own container of sand to find shells and million year old fossils and sharks teeth collected in Florida. They will learn about what they found, and will get to keep their finds!

  • Recommended for ages 7-11
  • $10 per child
  • This is an outdoor adventure, so dress for the outdoors.
  • Wear closed toe shoes that may get muddy.
