Meet The Monarchs! Family Program with Nature At The Confluence and 815 Outside

June 15 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

Meet Nature At The Confluence’s monarchs up close and personal!

In this program that is designed for kids and their adults, you’ll learn about the amazing monarch butterfly, their life cycle, and their unique long-distance migration. You’ll view our indoor monarch habitat up close and personal to see the entire life cycle of a monarch. Then we’ll get out our microscopes so you can see the amazing structure of a monarch wing and see the difference between a healthy monarch and one with a disease. You’ll learn about our efforts to restore monarch habitat as we’ll take a short hike along our prairie trail. You’ll also learn how you can make an impact in your school, community, or backyard to help monarchs and benefit many other wildlife species at the same time!

This family program is designed for kids ages 7-12 and their adults (adults must stay with the kids, and you’re going to have just as much fun as them!) Younger family members are welcome to also attend.

Things you’ll learn during this program:

  • Monarch habitat & restoration
  • Citizen Science
  • Monarch Life Cycle
  • Why Monarchs are in trouble and how you can help

This program is offered by Nature At The Confluence in partnership with 815 Outside and is offered at no cost to the public through a private donor. Space is limited, so please register to secure your spots!
