In this program we’ll take a peek of the fastest growing bird in North America.  You will experience the nest cycle right up to the fledge flights and beyond.  You will marvel and laugh at the mischief these young birds get into as well.

Did you know that Boney Island, part of the Confluence Campus, is home to a pair of nesting eagles that we call Tebo and Sobo? They have been raising young on Boney Island for years and their young have recently fledged (left)  the nest. In this program you’ll learn about eagle behavior and see beautiful photographs of eagles by Kurt Van Galder, wildlife photographer our presenter for this program on the American Bald Eagle.

Presenter:  Kurt Van Galder of Janesville, WI –   Kurt is a retired educator.  He taught American History at Janesville Craig High School for twenty-eight years.  Since his retirement in 2001, Kurt has enjoyed and combined his twin hobbies of hiking the Appalachian Trail with wildlife photography.
