Nature At The Confluence will distribute free oak saplings as part of the Rock River Trail Initiative’s efforts to restore habitat along the Rock River. We need a few volunteers to help with handing out the saplings.
NOTE: We will be stationed indoors at the nature center main building, but will hand out trees outside the door (they are drippy!), so dress appropriately.

The public is invited to pick up the free bare-root oak saplings at Nature At The Confluence, 306 Dickop Street, South Beloit, IL on Saturday, April 18, 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. (or while supplies last). Each sapling is 1 to 2 feet long and will need to be planted within a few days of pick up.

Chad Pregracke, president of Living Lands and Waters’ One Million Trees program, has donated 85,000 trees to the Rock River Trail Initiative over the last eight years. It is the desire of the Rock River Trail that the trees should be planted within sight of the Rock River or near the mouth of one of its tributaries, such as Turtle Creek.
